"Greener Grass", a photograph by Robert Santafede

I have such a love/hate relationship for HDR – but that’s a story for another day.

The hyper colour of HDR is both fascinating and slightly disconcerting. Like the colour pop on the walls though 🙂

Thanks! I agree. I will admit I love the way it looks on others photos, but on my own it’s almost like a picture I never took. Yet I can’t revert it back because it looks flat and boring by comparison. Haha. 🙂

I have mix feelings about HDR as well. It can look awesome in some images and then horrible in others. Ive tried it, yet need to like it more, great image. And true, I also like on other images but on mine, not sure!

Agreed! I think it’s more of a mental thing – as far as liking it on others photos but not your own. I usually haven’t been to where the other photo came from so I have nothing to compare it to.

That’s a story I would like to hear more about.

Half a million still displaced and homeless from last hurricane in Haiti several years ago. Many would be grateful for a shelter of even this low caliber .

    HDR? It’s a great shot.

Same thoughts on hdr, but I would have just thought this was a good photo.

I feel the same about HDR.

I’m thinking most photographers do, at this point. It’s usually a great result, but often looks very little like the actual place. It’s fun to mess with, but usally I can’t go back to the original afterwards without thinking it pales by comparison.

This image is so bleak in the foreground, but still holds out hope for more showing us what is not far away, and seen through the window. I like it because, like your other images, it makes me think.

There’s a delicious melancholia to this image. However you did it, it’s a great photograph.

Thank you, Richard. I thought it had that feel too. I’m becoming more of a fan of desaturated photos. I think I went like a week where I over-saturated everything. Neon toxic green grass, orange/red people and all!
