     Thanks! I found that was really the only way to place more emphasis on the thorns and general shape, aside from going the macro route.

       Good choice. Macro doesn’t suit you (now that’s presumptuous, but i’ll say it anyway!). I like way you’ve changed something so evocative into something quite abstract.

         It’s a bad habit! But really, I usually spend some time thinking about what shots I’ll be going for, and how to make it different. I’m not a huge fan of taking pictures of flowers. There are plenty of other photographers out there who do a much better job than I. So I tend to look for the thing most people wouldn’t bother taking a picture of, and go from there. Sometimes it works.. Other times not so much. 🙂
