Great detail of these waders. They look so fragile and I wonder how they endure the wind, snow, water etc. I love the detail of the bird’s feathers. And yes I can see that the bird has closed it’s eye to protect itself from the snow.

I’m in concert with ‘niasunset’ and ‘katehobbs’. Of course, as much as I’m in awe of the bird’s patience and endurance, I’m also picturing you on your stomach with red fingers trying to position and frame the shot while remaining still enough for the bird to not bolt.
Thanks for all your comments! And yes, it was VERY cold that day. The wind was incredibly strong and I wasn’t really wearing the best clothes to take as many pictures as I was.
I was actually really pleased with how this came out. They both finally caught a break long enough to snap the picture. The wind was really pushing them around.
