WOW!

Thanks for your comment, Face. Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Ominous and dark. Reminds me of a classic movie “On the Beach” about the end of the world because everyone decided to bomb everyone else…I think it was before nuclear anything, but the idea was the same as in a nuclear holocaust. Anyway, the few survivors were in Australia waiting for the deadly cloud to catch up with them and there was a classic scene of Burt Lancaster and (I think) Deborah Kerr….wait for it….On the Beach.
-
Hmm, I don’t think I’ve seen that one. After that description, I must.
Thanks for your comment, Suzy! -
Us Australians are always so behind
-
-
Beautiful work Robert
love the rain on the horizon.-
Thanks, QH.
I’m pretty far behind myself, I meant to post this last night, haha.
Thanks for your comment!
-
-
Great post. And I also think of the movie, On The Beach. Really…you should watch it.
-
Thanks Angeline! Definitely going to try, hoping Netflix has it.
-
-
I had the movie right, but it was Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner….the other scene with Lancaster and Kerr was in From Here To Eternity, but had the same ominous darkness.
-
Understood.
I tried to find it, but unfortunately Netflix doesn’t have it. I don’t remember what I used to do before I subscribed, haha.
I will find it though, all the comments have piqued my curiosity now!

BEAUTIFUL !!!!! I love it, it reminds me of when I was living in Australia, I would wake up early to sit on the beach before starting my day, just watching the amazing cloud formations and finish my evenings doing the same thing, I love Clouds
And the title ” Life ( goes on)” PERFECT , just the reminder I needed this morning, Thank You
I’m ready for a new beginning.-
Thanks Leticia, from one cloud lover to another!

Its a great shot but a bit depressing in B&W, how about a colour comparrison/
)-
Really? I didn’t think it was depressing, moody for sure though! Here’s a color version, http://robertsantafede.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/robert-santafede-life-goes-on-color.jpg
The vignetting was already there, that just made me want to do a b&w version even more.
-
I see it now that there is a comparission, the B&W is the better shot..:-)
-
-
-
Amazing!
-
Thanks, f-Stops!

The title is perfect “Life (goes on)” and just right for what this past week brought. I am amazed at your talent and the moods you so perfectly create in your photos.

One very angry mother!
Thanks for the comment Carl. (Thanks for the heads up about the messages also!)

this is interesting, if a little heavy. ‘On the beach’ was about a nuclear holocaust, if I remember correctly.
-
Thanks Shimon. I have to confess, I hadn’t ever seen/heard of that movie. After all the mentions of it on here, my curiosity has piqued and I need to find a copy now.
-
-
spectacular.

Cheers Gav!

stunning!

Thank you, Urbancurator!

Great photograph, Robert. That’s one threatening cloud. Love The Damned too. Captain Sensible’s on the radio tonight over here.
-
Thanks, Richard! I’m jealous, I can’t remember the last time I turned the radio on in the States. Have you heard what gets played here? Ugh!

This is outrageously good; I’ve never been in love with a photograph before…
-
Thank you very much, beautyblogorlando!

Thank YOU

Definitely my kind of image, Robert. Because of the storm clouds in the distance, the image might be described as mildly “threatening”. And, of course, dark. I love it………
-
Thanks, Paul! I’m glad I caught your posts the other day, your photos are great! Looking forward to seeing more.
-
-
I like that you are not afraid to go dark. The image called for it.
-
Thanks, photosclosetohome! Guilty as charged.
For some reason, I really enjoy a stronger than necessary contrast on some nature shots. It really brings out the drama and creates an interesting mood.
-
-
great photo Robert…very ominous…I can practically feel the storm surge! I also noticed a face (a sheep?) in the upper left quadrant of the clouds. Spirits abound!
-
Wow…an amazing shot and process.
